The only Maize Maze in the Eden Valley is situated at Hay Close, Calthwaite, which has been farmed by the Field family for over 50 years. The farm is mainly stocked with cattle and sheep. We grow various crops including barley, wheat and potatoes. The farm attracts many interesting forms of wildlife including hares, buzzards, song thrushes, finches, wild geese and woodpeckers to name but a few!

The idea of the Maize Maze is deceptively simple; a fun educational family day out in a beautiful countryside setting, with an intriguing challenge for you to solve.

Maize Maze : Opening Times

  1. The maize will re-open this year on Sunday July 19th 2009

Tearoom : Opening Times

  1. During 2009 we will be open from 28th February until Mid December.
  2. We are open every Bank Holiday Monday and every day during school summer holidays
